Restoration to preserve the past

We enjoyed a visit and lunch on the historic site of a noble’s home. Appa, the buildings had fallen into disrepair, but concerned folks took action and have been patiently restoring the buildings and property. Such a serene location. During our visit we enjoyed a very nice lunch served by extremely friendly folks. A great afternoon activity.

Great Place To see How The Duke's of This World Used to Live
Built in 1580 this hose has been pasted down over the years to other royalty.Over the years it like many other properties of the rich and famous got into disrepair. It's very interesting to see how and what has been done to bring it back to life for us to see. They have many interesting exhibits in the main building ( almost all in Danish) they do have a few in English. At the barn they have put on a new thatched roof that you can see both the inside and outside of it. They also have a complete exhibit of how the roof work was done. It is very spectacular. There are a few more things to do here with kids so we'd say it was a worthwhile visit.
