    Truly beautiful and interesting museum
If you have the slightest interest in paintings this exceptional museum is well worth a visit even if you have never heard about Johannes Larsen before. The villa that houses the museum was the painter’s home for more than 60 years and after his death the family lived in the house until it became a museum. As it is evident from old photos little has changed since the painter lived there. It looks more like a private home than a museum. It is packed with hundreds of beautiful paintings by Johannes Larsen, his wife and other Funen painters. Two new exhibition buildings that are beautifully integrated with the old buildings have been added. They provide much needed space for the huge collection as well as temporary exhibitions by other painters. My wife and I will definitely use any opportunity to visit this beautiful place again.

    A wonderful discvery
I did not know Johannes Larsen and the Fyn painters before but looking for things to do on Fyn a rainy day this was a nice surprise. The museum is located in the house where Johannes Larsen and his wife lived. A wonderful building close to the shore in the cute town Kerteminde, Beside being an exhibition of the art Johannes and other Fyn painters, it also shows Johannes and his wife’s home, as it were when they lived in it (early part of 20th century) which also was the place they worked (the wife was also a prominent artist), Another building contains an exhibition of the works of Johannes Larsen, the wife and the other Fyn painters. The art is very accessible, also for us without a degree in art history ? There is also a lovely café with food and delicious pastry, that feels to be home made.
