Visit the restored renaissance castle Harridslevgaard 3km from Bogense, which offers you an exciting cultural experience. The castle is mentioned back to King Valdemar's cadaster of 1231. The present building is from 1606. Totally 1550 sqm. can be seen of the main building in 3 stories, fx. the great hall, which is Denmark's largest in private possession, and the arched dungeon below the ground floor. Afterwards you are welcome to take a walk in the beautiful area with peacocks.Please inform you about our opening hours at our webpage. We also organize weddings, company arrangement etc.

We stayed here overnight
The castle is worth a visit, with self-guided tours though the impressively decorated interior. We stayed in one of the apartments for a night, it was spacious, charming, nicely decorated, and also had a kitchen. For a small fee the refrigerator was stocked with foods for a fine breakfast. Peacocks roam the beautiful grounds -- while lovely to look at the squawks of these birds are very loud and kept us from sleeping as soundly as we would otherwise. Even worse, their huge droppings are all over the place and much care should be taken when walking around. These non-native birds really should be removed from the premises to make it more pleasant and natural.

Different. However..
Fantastic! From when you drive up to the castle, you immediately feel the history. Yes, some great attention outside, would do the place good. The same goes for the park and yard. We had the south wing apartment, and it fully met the expectations and some of the reviews on Booking.com. Authentic! And the 3/4 bed is very comfortable! Fully equipped kitchen! Great 4 nights and the day before leaving, we took the indoor tour of the Castle. Absolutely stunning. Yes, you can get to see Egeskov Museum and Castle. I just find that place to polished. This is authentic! We cooked our breakfast ourselves, and enjoyed the silence in front of the Castle. But not alone.. one of the Peacook’s joined us, and expected to be hand feed. All in all- great experience that I can recommend. Just make sure what you expect!
