Hans Christian Andersens Childhood Home, Funen and Islands, Denmark

Pretty little timbered cottage home of Andersen as a boy

Andersen recalled his childhood with nostalgic pleasure. From the age of two until he was 14, he grew up in a poor – but also loving – home which provided him with inspiration for many of his fairytales. Come and sense the really special atmosphere of the poet’s spirit in the childhood home. Take a look too at the tiny, fairytale garden.

    Nothing special but curious
As the HCA museum was fully booked and we were only offered to enter two days later, we were recommended to stroll around the city following the foot marks on the floor and head to the childhood home of HCA. It is tiny place and minimum things to be seen. The signs in the little tiny house though, share some interesting facts and feels about HCA childhood in this house and place.

    curiousity kills the wallet, LOL
I was just curious of what do they have inside this museum and I agree with some of the reviews about this place, there's nothing much. There's a room where you can watch a little introduction about him but in Danish, and if the visitors don't speak Danish then what??? The entrance ticket in my opinion is expensive, DKK 95 per adult, but Denmark is expensive with capital ''E'' Wandering around the town is more interesting.
