Amanda, Funen and Islands, Denmark

3.5 (16 reviews) Spent Ranking #12 in Kerteminde Monuments & Statues

Nice statue

The Amanda Statue is situated in a small square near the southern side of Langebro, a bridge leading to the town of Kerteminde. The statue was made in 1954 by sculptor Robert Lund Jensen and imagines a young fishing girl. It is made of granite and has become a landmark symbolizing the town. The artist’s model for the statue was a local girl, who suffered an unfortunate life and death at the age of only 40. In my opinion the best time to visit is around sunset.

The symbol of Kerteminde - nice to stop but don't go out of your way
This is the the symbol of Kerteminde town, the statue of a young fish monger as you enter the town from the south. Nice statue and a good place to rest as you stroll the town, but no need to go out of your way
