A monument to a great historical figure
This gigantic status of the great Chinese Philosopher, Lao Zi is located in the lush mountainside in the outskirts of Quanzhou City. I was here in the summer and the breeze was cool. Around this area, you can have tea and some freshly cooked mountain vegetables from local residents. Enjoy while looking at the view of the city from a perch by the mountainside. Further on, there is a trail leading to an even higher part with an even greater view.

You like Lao Zi? You gonna' love his statue.
I drove here on my motorcycle with my wife one lazy afternoon when I was teaching at a university in Quanzhou. 'Twas a lovely spring day. The sun was bright, the breeze was just a bit cool, and the rains in the fields from the previous days had left an intoxicating sweet fragrance in the air.... But I digress. This place is alright. We went for a moderately interesting hike, took our picture with the sweet statue (I really have loved Lao Zi since reading the Tao Te Ching more than 20 years ago), and bought some honey from the beekeepers who had tables set up on the road outside. All in all, a lovely day.

Lao Tzu Statue
Hv always wanted to see this statue for the past 20 years and finally saw it on 29.11.2019.Great statue.
