    Historical Old Building
It is a historical building with beautirul relief outside. It has steps with beautiful old lanterns. We could only take some pictures as it was closed on saturday.

Historic with 18th century Rococo looks
The original structure from 1550 lies deep buried in what looks like essentially an 18th century building. Special for Friesland as the facade is in Rococo style. Roc (rock) and coquilles (shell) are indeed very well visible in the decoration work. For instance see the fine ornamentation of shells and images of Lion and Wildman over the door to the terrace. It must have been quite an investment by the city authorities to pull off this -at the time- very new 'lavish' city hall. Glad they did it.
