Anniversary Kite Surfing
Me and my 'beau' were lucky to be in St Lucia's Coconut Bay for our 10th anniversary. Where better to give kite surfing a try so we rocked up to speak to Marcus and Mary at their surf shack. The 20 minute free taster session was a no pressure way to get a feel as to whether it was for us and from the word go their relaxed but professional tuition made us feel right at home. Fiona and I booked an initial 2 hour lesson where we were taken through the methodical stages from Kite set-up to the point of 'body dragging'. It was a good pace and we felt we were progressing from the word go with safety embedded but not impeding the experience. I went on to book a further two hours at which point I managed to get up briefly on the board which felt like a real achievement in a short space of time. Highly recommend North West Kite boarding. We're already planning a break in 2020 to Amsterdam for our next lesson! Back to -5 in Scotland - Coconut Bay Surf Board Shack dreamin' on such a winters day!
