Sneek’s rich history of seafaring
We visited the museum on a Tuesday morning. It was a busy morning there but not crowded. Due to the audio guides available one gets background information about the items on display in about a dozen different rooms each covering a different topic. There is also a children’s section in the museum with an interactive concept, which we did not visit though. We very much enjoyed and appreciated our visit there.

nice museum
a good idea how people were living years ago. nice museum. very clean and clear. after your visit you can have a coffee of tea for free.

Maritime Museum of Friesland
Very worthwhile museum with much more than just the history of ships and boats. It includes some of the history of Sneek, paintings, souvenirs that sailors brought back, and period rooms of how people in Sneek lived in the 19th century.
