Really interesting place
The Broerekerk is a burnt out church in the centre of Bolsward. The shell of the church remains but the roof is gone. It was really interesting seeing it, and the remaining architectural features and gravestones inside the church. the Bat fountain outside is also really good. The day we went there was a busker and the acoustics are excellent.

One of a Kind
Originally it was a monastery church from 13th century. In May 1980 a fire destroyed this church but the ruin has been preserved. It was a good idea to save the church by putting glass roof on the ruin in 2006. It is beautiful and it's one of a kind. The acoustics sound great. The building is a national monument and also events location.

Ruin of a medieval church
This is a ruin of a 13th century conventchurch. The friars minor (broeders) already left in 1580 only leaving their name and perhaps the bones of some of them under the church floor. The church burned down in 1980. In 2006 the ruin got a glass roof and is occasionally used for events. I was not impressed by the architecture and liked Bolsward city hall more.
