Very good center with guided tour to and in an impressive small church
The information and knowledge center Hegebeintum is near the highest 'terp' (manmade hill) of the Netherlands. The guided tour is very good and informative. We were impressed by the church on the hill with seventeen ornamented grieving plaques. The aristocrated couple that was important for the church on the hill had a total of nineteen children, all represented by a metal brick in the path to the church. Only one lived to the age of ninetyone, most didn't reach there teenage years, some not even the age of one or two. The center serves regular coffee, drinks and pastry. There is also a small shop with local items and there are bathrooms, one is wheelchair accessible.
