Summer zoo day activity
It was a supper cute experience, went on a couples date. But I can confidently recommend it as a family day out, friends gathering and also a couples date too. Personally I have mixed feelings regarding zoo’s and animals kept in. Because it’s summer I felt supper sad for the polar bear! So it would be nice to see some Positive advertisement from the zoo in terms of how they are keeping them safe, if they are doing so.

Enjoyed the visit to the AquaZoo
We decided to visit the AquaZoo when leaving Leeuwarden. It was a rainy weekday so it was not very busy, which was nice. I was skeptical based on the online reviews, and am always hesitant with animal attractions and want to make sure I am not supporting any mistreatment or abuse of animals. When we arrived, the entry area an aquarium were a little unimpressive, but once we got outside, the zoo was very impressive. Following a pathway through the exhibits, you get to encounter a wide variety of animals. You can walk right up to penguins and get very close to many other animals and birds. Despite the rain, many of the animals were out or at least visible in their indoor habitats, so we got to see almost all animals. The polar bear was visible from afar in the indoor area, but was not walking around. I liked the large area for most of the animals - I never like seeing them cooped up and in unnatural environments. Overall, we were very pleased with the visit and found it a worthwhile stop. We did order tickets online for the reduced entry fee, but they never came. I am not sure if I typed the wrong email, but in any case, the order showed up in their system and they let us in despite the email not being received.
