A must do in North Port
At a temperature of 87 degrees, Warm Mineral Springs contains 9 million gallons of fresh water which replenishes itself every two hours. This natural resource is comprised of 51 minerals, which is the highest mineral content of any natural spring in the United States. The spring has been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places partly because it is one of the most important underwater archeological sites in America. During exploratory dives in the 1950s, the remains of a prehistoric hunter and seven other humans were discovered in a very well preserved state. Similarly, evidence of several creatures have been extracted from the spring, including saber tooth tigers, giant sloths, tortoises, and even camels. Today, with a goal of increased wellness for everyone, Warm Mineral Springs offers a natural experience to residents and visitors alike who want to soak in the warm waters.

Nice if you don’t have night expectations
We’ve heard many different options about this place and went there “ just to check for ourselves “ Lucky for us we were not during the night season, there was actually between 13-15 people inside the spring while we were there. This is very interesting place: the spring is actually very old and the lake as not that small as we expected. The deepest part is in a middle and of course the warmest water is there. The large is divided to separate areas depending on the depth of the water. There are actually piers to get to the water. Lots of plastic chairs and loungers around the lake and nice trees lake to make it some kind of microclimate there. Water is very clean and clear, smell of sulfur is not as strong and very soon you do not smell it at all. The staff there is very helpful and friendly. Few things to remember: bring water shoes to walk inside , since there are stony bottom; if you forgot yours, not a problem, you can buy a pair for $9.99 there. Bring a noodle or any other swimming gear; the idea is to spend as long as possible in the water and it is tiring to swim non stop for more than half hour. Bring water with you, you will feel thirsty after the swim. There are showers and lockers if you want to use. Don’t forget towels and cover up if you are planning to spend long time there. Ladies, take some face cream with you to use after, my skin felt slightly dry right after.

Incredible
As a displaced floridian now, I find so many of these comments to be utterly ignorant of what this place is, what it offers, and how unusually unique it can be to our bodies need for relaxation and pure mineral warmth. this isn't Disney. It's a spa in the most natural of senses. The $20 door fee is a mere 5% of a day at Disney, but - to each his own. Pack a lunch or eat in their cafe...it's a quiant and off the beaten path way of touching the natural wonders of Florida. That - is on the surface. The history and awe inspiraring facts surrounding this place shouldn't be overlooked. One would pay over $120 for an hour at any spa with these offerings. They provide lovely loungers surrounding the lake of minerals...all on grassy lands, or under the shade of aged trees. To not love this place, is to not know what it is. Perhaps Disney is more appropriate for many...but I love my peace and tranquility this place offers. It'll never leave you.
