Vero Beach City Marina, Florida, United States

They call it Velcro for a reason!!

This place is wonderful! My family usually stays here every year on their way down the coast to get to the keys! It's very easy to get stuck here for a few! They have a free bus that picks you up at the marina and will being you any where. Only thing is that the Wi-Fi is not to great. Over all I would highly recommend staying here!

    Nice Local Marina
We were visiting the area and just love the photo ops in marinas. We visited later in the evening and it was very quiet. Beautiful pics of the water, sunset and all contrasted with the masts of the beautiful ships. A very nice experience for us.

Do you long for the Florida of the 1940's?
If you long for the old Florida--without high rises, condos, crowds, neon, and glitz--then Vero Beach is it. Things are very much like they were in the 40's. The downtown has a few quaint shops, there is a nice little museum, but the beach is excellent. No crowds, no trash, and no endless stretches of condos. (High rises are apparently zoned out.) There are a few good restaurants: Bobby's, Ocean Grill, and Riverside are among them. We tried all of these. Sea food headlines the menu at all of them. The famous old Driftwood Inn is right downtown. We did not stay there. It was built in the 1930's and is bizarre, ecletic, historical. It appears that it is the kind of place you would go if you wanted to just immerse yourself into the 1940's. We ate at Waldo's, which is at the hotel. The food was average, but the setting was old Florida. It was apparent that this is not got the conveniences, etc. of a Hilton, as it is more of an "experience" rather than the linens, the shampoo, and hair dryer, etc. But a final judgment on the rooms must rest on a review of one who stayed there. We stayed at the Marriott Springhill Suites (two miles from the beach) and it was a good solid room. What would be expected of this level of the chain. All in all, the BEACH is the thing here. The Ocean Grill has a lot of history, and the food is outstanding. It is right on the ocean.
