    Sure, it's ugly...
What can you say? The Trop is a barn and not a very attractive one at that. But they've made some upgrades over the last few years to the concourse, food court, scoreboards and seating areas that make it slightly more appealing but it's still an ugly ballpark. No argument from me on that. On the other hand, it's a nice place to watch a ballgame. When it's 100 degrees outside, you'll appreciate the chilly air inside. And when the monsoon rains come, you'll start to like that dome a little better. You'll never have to worry about your game being postponed or called early due to weather. The sightlines are great and there's really not a bad seat in the house. I'm tall so I find that there's not a lot of leg room but that's a problem for me everywhere. The staff is friendly and that makes for a nice game day experience. For my tastes, parking is a little steep but I've never had a problem getting in or getting out. Getting back onto the interstate is a slightly different story. Tropicana Field has gone completely cashless so you'll pay for parking with a credit card or you pay in advance on the Rays website. There are plenty of concession stands offering everything from popcorn to pizza. Again, the prices are a little steep (20 bucks for 2 hot dogs and a drink?) but no one is forcing me to buy food. You order just about everything on a touchscreen and you can also order from your phone. The Ted Williams museum has gone away. I thought it had a nice collection on exhibit and was disappointed that it was apparently knocked down to make for a higher ceiling in the sports bar. Sure, there are nicer and newer ballparks and I hope Tampa Bay will have one some day...but probably not in my lifetime. It's not going to win any awards for its looks but it's not a bad place to spend an afternoon or evening watching baseball.

    Interesting Ballpark
We attended a spring training game here. do not take a backpack here. They will not allow a regular backpack in the stadium. The 72 degree temp inside was a relief from the 90;degree outdoor temp. NOTE this is a cashless stadium.
