Surf Up!!

We had a blast watching the surfers riding the waves when we were here. You do have to walk through Crabby Joe's to get to the pier. We had a easy bite while we were there for our lunch. There were many on the pier fishing. Honestly, I have no idea if they were catching any fish considering my eyes were glued on the surfers who were putting on a wonderful show without even knowing it.

    A "must do" in Daytona Beach!
    It is definitely what to do if visiting Daytona Beach. We paid the $20 to drive on the beach, which if you have never done is absolutely THE WAY to do the beach... so easy and convenient. We parked right near the pier and walked up the stairs to head to the pier. They have plenty of poles and bait to rent at very reasonable prices. What a super fun time. There were fish to be caught and many were... then, we had lunch at Crabby Joe's (which you literally have to walk through to access the pier). What a fun Florida day!

    Can't Get Closer to the Ocean!
    I only frequent this pier when the wind is up and the waves are rolling high! It is so exhilarating feeling the pounding of the surf on the supports below. I don't fish, but there are plenty of fishermen to watch. Seeing the various fish caught is interesting too. When you're finished, drop into the Crabby Joe's restaurant for a good meal and great scenery.
