Great grouper experience. Captain Tom and Cody know how to put grouper in the boat.
I have had the pleasure of fishing all over the world and one of my favorite boats is fishing on Simply Hooked with Captain Tom & his first mate Cody. I have fished with Captain Tom for 15 years and always catch grouper as well as a variety of other fish. This year we did a red snapper trip and caught our limit of snapper and group during this extended trip. I recommend Simply Hooked to my other fishing friend and look forward to my charter this coming Friday October 30 for some Halloween Grouper.

Go with simply hooked!
Great captain. Enjoyed the experience with parents and my 6 year old son. He slowed down while getting out to the fishing spots so some dolphins could tail the boat and jump out of the wake the boat left behind. At the end he fileted the fish.

Why it’s called fishing, not catching.
Fishing charters are hard to review, because so much of your experience is based on what you catch. However, with this tricky business, the two things you can’t control are the weather and if the fish are biting. The day we went, the water was rough and so was the fishing. Captain Tom and First Mate Cody definitely put in the work, trying everything possible to put us on to some game fish. We hooked one mackerel, but a snafu with the line getting tangled in some other lines before the deckhand could get them in led to us living losing the big king. Big disappointment! We didn’t hook any other mackerel, so went and bottom-fished. Caught a couple dozen porgy and snappers that the crew cleaned for us—a 1-gal. Ziploc bag of fillets. It was tough work for us and tough work for them, but they still tasted great in the end. The fact that I puked over a dozen times due to the choppy four-footers made it much less enjoyable than it would’ve been. Boat is spacious, safe and capable for our party of six. Captain is experienced and knowledgeable. First mate worked hard. Those are the things they can control, and they did so admirably. Though no fault of the crew, smoother seas and hungrier fish would’ve bumped this rating from four stars to five. We’ve used Simply Hooked before and we will again.
