Safety Harbor Art and Music Center (SHAMc) has been a lifelong dream for us. Its’ a place where touring musicians, artists, actors, writers and poets gather to share their gifts with our community. It’s a space where ArtFULL living is carried out in an ArtFULL space. Mosaiced by the community for the community, it’s a dream come true and a must see space to experience for yourself. A magnet for local & visiting artists, musicians, & other talents
I go there periodically to perform on open mic nights (play trumpet), poetry nights (read my own poetry/stories), and to see other more well known entertainers from afar. I think the folk singer from the famous Woodstock Festival, N.Y. in the 1960s, "Melanie" sang there as she re-visited Safety Harbor where she lived for awhile. They have classes for all ages in numerous art forms, festivals throughout the year, and is ideal for talent of all levels to participate in front of an audience. It's very convenient for me since I've lived in Safety Harbor since 1986. Known as SHAMC, this place became a reality almost 2 years ago thanks to a grant, community support, and its collective artist writers, teachers, musicians, etc. and volunteers.

Great place to view and purchase local art!
I enjoyed the variety of artwork on display and purchased a few items. A must see location, their building is colorful and creative! I like supporting local artists and this is a great place to do that. And the staff was very helpful and friendly.
