Beautiful area
As its name states, Riverside is located just beside the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, FL. This is an extremely beautiful area. The trees are huge. Be sure to visit the Cummer Museum where there are Live Oak trees on the riverfront with branches that are not only huge, but dip down into the ground and come up again. Amazing! The homes and gardens in this area are gracious and well maintained. Spanish Moss hangs from the trees. A quiet residential area by the river.

Avondale is quaint with good food and friendly people
I dined and shopped in this area for two nights in early June. The restaurants were great with friendly bartenders and delicious food. I enjoyed breakfast and coffee at Southern Grounds, the eggs Benedict with cheesy grits was delicious!

Pretty neighborhood
This pretty neighborhood has many homes built in the early 20th century and a couple of areas with shops and restaurants. There is a walkway along the river in the north end of Riverside but otherwise most of the riverfront is blocked by private homes. You'll also find the Cummer Museum, the Saturday Market, and couple of parks.
