Quaint lighthouse with a lovely bit of history
Came here to visit the lighthouse ($6.95 per person) and it was a lovely experience run by volunteers. Lots of history and things to see, including climbing to the top of the lighthouse for a lovely view, a display of the different lights, and a moving exhibition showing the homemade rafts that people are attempting to travel to the U.S. in to escape from their own countries. Really enjoyed a lovely morning at this unexpected delight.

    More Than Just a Lighthouse
The main attraction is the lighthouse that was built in 1887. If you don’t mind climbing 203 steps you can go to the top and see a beautiful panoramic view of Pounce Inlet all the way to the ocean. There are numerous other buildings to visit with lots of information about the property and history of the area. There is even one devoted to how the lamp at the top of the lighthouse works. We were finishing up our tour before 2 buses and 2 vans full of visitors arrived so we were able to see and do all we wanted before it became too crowded. I recommend being there when they open or calling in advance to see if they are expecting bus tours to arrive on the day you plan to visit.
