A new and different experience in Amelia!
The "Pirate Playground" as it's now referred to by the locals, offers a unique and different play ground experience for kids of all ages and all abilities. It is not your typical play structure with swings and monkey bars, it offers hands on sensory structures and activities that kids crave! There are swings, but there is also a sand bed, with moving equipment and water (dress in play clothes that you don't mind getting dirty), even buried treasure! Life-size musical structures and playhouse facades, a wooded pirate ship, a woven web to climb, and things that wind, twist, and turn. It is also enclosed by a fence and gate and its all on one level so parents can see their kids from across the playground, which is so nice. And all visitors enjoy watching the kids play together. A must visit on your trip to Amelia.

    Can't wait to visit again!
I honestly loved this playground so much it is hard to know where to begin. This playground was designed with special needs and sensory disorders in mind. Everything is accessible for children with physical disabilities. The park is completely fenced in and small enough you can sit anywhere through out and observe your children playing without any problem. It is also nicely shaded (thank you park designers.) There are also easily accessible bathrooms. These are just the necessities. There are so many fun things at this park. A merry go round that even Mom can get on, comfy swings with backs on them , a cool climbing web, a musical instruments section, a pretend section with little buildings/shops and even a pirate ship. Our favorite the sand water sensory area.
