OTHER OPTIONS WHEN CENTER IS CLOSED
The Palatka Welcome Center was not open on Friday when I visited, the last week of January. If you go and the center is closed, about 2 doors down on the left hand side of the same sidewalk is a shop called AT THE MARKETPLACE. There we met a wonderful lady, Lynda. She was a wealth of information about Palatka and had maps of the murals. You can also download a copy of the map from the a website dedicated to the Palatka Murals.

    Hours of operation?
You never know when it won't be a wasted trip there. No set hours you can depend on someone being there. And as far as knowing correct information on events is not something to count on. One example there was a "Taste of Palatka" festival. Tickets were $15.00 and had to be purchased in advance. They said their were many restaurants involved. And a list of them would be provided the day of the festival. The day of the festival no list and no restaurants showing any signs of it. And when approached they just shook there head. Getting money back didn't happen. And now with the new administration things are even worse.
