Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail, Florida, United States

4.5 (616 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Ormond Beach Hiking Trails • Scenic Drives

One of Nature's last gifts to us.

I have lived in Central Florida since 1982. As an avid motorcycle rider, I have taken long rides all over the State. Bikers generally hate city congestion and gravitate towards rural scenic roads with minimal interference. It took many years until I discovered the Ormond Loop, but when I did, I made dozens of rides around it and never get tired of the magnificent scenery. The beauty is indescribable as you cruise roads with majestic ancient trees that branch over the roads. In today's advanced industrialized world, beautiful seldom traveled roads are being phased out with cookie-cutter housing developments and regulated roads with stop signs and traffic lights everywhere. The Ormond Loop is one of my favorite rides to this day because Nature gives us the ultimate experience before seeing a McDonald's and 7/11 at every traffic stop. So do the Loop before the money-making developers ruin it.

    Peacefully Natural Florida
A meandering road through "true" Florida with native trees and vegetation making a tunnel like effect to drive through. Waterways come right up to the road in some places and there is an occasional place to pull over to get a closer look. You'll see fishermen of all ages along the roadway in some areas, eager to make today's catch. I envy those who have motorcycles to fully get the full effect of this drive. I highly recommend a leisurely drive along the Loop & Trail.

    Driving the Loop
A nice way to see the ocean and surrounding area. It was a beautiful day. Our trip was during Bike Week, so there was more traffic than probably usual. We’re so surprised to see photographers taking pictures on the turns that you can go on web site and purchase.
