    Excellent Local History Museum
New Smyrna's Museum of History puts forth an excellent account of the local area and its role in the history of this area of Florida, but you should also be aware of the four walking tours that are offered through the course of the week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, with a different tour on each day. These tours cost $12, start at 10:30 a.m. and generally last about 1.5 hours. They may involve walking as far as one mile. The tours are small groups, limited to about 12 attendees. Unfortunately, Coronavirus restrictions have closed the museum and tours for now, but be sure to visit or tour here when they are able to reopen. The museum is located just off historic Canal Street, close to the weekly Farmer's Market area. Highly Recommended!

So much history in our little town!
Very well put together museum that tells the story of New Smyrna Beach from its beginnings - with self guided displays of the history of New Smyrna Beach. Little known fact is that our town is actually older than St. Augustine. Lots of old pictures, original letters, and interesting artifacts from native Americans and the pioneers who came after. Conveniently located just off Canal St. shopping.
