Monstrous Fun with Mini Golf!

We stopped here on a whim to play mini golf while traveling through the area. The mini golf was tons of fun! The course was put together in such a creative way. The monster theme was everywhere. Not a single area lacked in imagination. The upbeat music and air conditioned building were a great escape from the hot Florida afternoon. The mini golf course gets 5 stars. However, the arcade games were lacking and only get 1 star. You pay for a set amount of tokens to then use in the arcade games separate from what you pay to play mini golf. Many of the games were broken. Those that did work didn't give you tickets if you won. Some machines required too many tokens. Prizes you could get when turning in the game tickets were not that great. The arcade area looked outdated, dirty, and needed lots of maintenance.

eh... there are much better mini golf places out there!
I recently saw a group on for Monster Mini Golf for admission for $4 per person which is 50% off regular admission ($8 for adults, $4 for kids under a certain height). We have played up the road at Congo River on a couple occasions, but they are expensive. We originally planned to go on a Monday night till I found out they are closed on Mondays. We opted for Tuesday. When we pulled in the parking lot, we didn't know if it was even open. It sits back from the road in a shopping center that has probably seen better times. In addition, the sign is not lit up and the front doors and windows are blacked out the inside effects. With a practically empty parking lot, the only reason we knew it was open was because of a small neon sign flashing. When we walked in two thoughts came to mind: 1. This is bigger than I thought. 2. It's loud in here! We walked over to the counter, handed over our voucher and it was processed with no problems. We were handed our clubs and on our way. Here is both the good and bad from our visit: Pro's: -Cheap (especially if you have a coupon!) -Not crowded. Only a few other people. I heard it does get crowded during the hot summer. Con's: -A little boring and repetitive. After a few holes, they all sort of feel the same. Everything is flat. The only challenge is you have to maneuver around multiple corners on occasion. -I personally don't get into Halloween theming, especially year round. One of my kids was scared from the decorations. I don't blame them. -Loud inside. Pretty much have to shout to hear each other. A few other things to note: 1. The mens restroom door doesn't really lock or even close. You can see a pic of that I've included. 2. Don't bother playing the game if you want a decent prize. Their prize selection is insulting, especially for the tickets you need. They gave us some free tickets for our kids which was a good thing, but we could have done without it just the same. 3. When we first started there was a group in front of us and a group directly behind us. With 2 small kids who had never played before we were stuck in the middle waiting on the group in front of us to finish and the group behind us was waiting on us. Other than that, the place was empty. We opted to skip a bunch of holes and then come back. When we came back to finish, a manager came out and asked us if this was our second round. We kindly explained what we did and she was okay with that. When we got back in the car I asked my wife "how many stars would you give this place?" She said "two... maybe three." Because of the low price with our group on I gave it 3. If I had to pay full price I'd probably give it 2. I've included a number of pictures from our visit including the outside, putting area, games, etc. If you found this review helpful, please let me know by clicking the button below! Thank you!

    Sadly, it's closed.
We've enjoyed Monster Mini Golf several times in the past but (on the way over) found out this location closed earlier in 2019. Hopefully, a near owner will step in and reopen this quirky, family fun spot.
