Streets are lined with jewelry stores and bridal shops among the usual chains: Morton’s, Benihana, Anthony’s pizza, California pizza, Starbucks,Häagen-Dazs, Seasons 52 ... The Spanish architecture was charming as was the fountains and Old City Hall. We found a municipal parking lot charging $2 an hour and we were set for a while.

    The place to be then?
    Seems to us when we walked about today that CG is the place to be for ladies who lunch? Valet parking everywhere, spited many patrons at the eateries, but nothing independent? Sure I may be wrong but, it seems that it’s so expensive to have s shop here that maybe the smaller tradespeople are priced out of the market ? I am used to shopping and I love independent little places with Nick Nack items, this isn’t that sort of place. It’s upmarket and clean but a bit fancy pants really. No soul.

    Just an average day
    We walked up and down and had lunch at Seasons 52, which we now realize we should’ve gone to one of the local places. There were a ton of bridal stores which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for. We stopped over at Grumpy Cafe for a coffee and that was probably the best part of the day. Overall just an average day.
