What a great, old cemetery
If you like older cemeteries this one is great, and larger than one would expect in such a small town. It's set under a grove of live oak trees so most areas are shady and quite picturesque. Many tombstones are old enough such that the engravings can't be read anymore, but many can be read and there is a wide variety of people who were buried there including many children. It's a great place to take photos, or just for a quiet walk in the shade. There is at least one geocache there too - one that we found accidentally - see if you can find it too!

Nice historical cemetery
We love to visit historical cemeteries and this one didn't disappoint. The large oak trees with Spanish moss gave it a wonderfully old, slightly spooky feeling! Many old headstones, often surrounded by dilapidated fences. Using a page off the internet, we were able to find the stones of several of the prominent Micanopy families like Herlong and Thrasher. Worth a quick stop.
