Quite quiet...

I'm writing this review with the intent of praising this park but yet keeping it saved as a 'hidden gem'. Each visit for me has been relaxing and calming. No bling, no zoom! Just a less traveled path. It's a fairly small park, I guess that helps it from becoming a busy place. The little lake is tranquil. There are some short trails to enjoy, along with a small walkway bridge. I'm content to sit at one of the rustic tables and just listen to the sounds of....nothing. Peace and quiet. Ahhhhhhh!

    Want to return
I just moved here from Texas. My husband and I wanted to take a short hike here after lunch. We drove in and immediately were followed by a red toyota truck down the path. We stopped at the boat ramp and took a few pics but the truck also stopped and lingered just out of our sight. We drove on around and the truck followed. We stopped near the entry/exit but decided to skip the hike out of concern for being followed. If this was a park employee or volunteer I feel they should have made an introduction to let us know we were safe. Being we were the only visitors there at the time. The park itself was beautiful and we would love to come back. It was very peaceful and well shaded and looked like a perfect place for a family outing.

    Drive or walk trail
We really enjoyed this trail around the lake. It is a paved road wide enough for one car--so it is ' one way ' all the way around the lake. t's almost 2 miles. We saw an alligator, pileated wood pecker, cardinals, hawks and a crane. The birds singing and frogs croaking are Nature at its finest. The trees are beautiful and its quiet and peaceful. Lots of tables and an awesome old fireplace. Restrooms were very clean and had flush toilets. Many signs to tell you about things. Fee is $2 that you put in an envelope.
