Pretty and worth a short visit; especially for the barbecue!

My family used to live in Newberry, and now that I myself live in Archer, I venture through Newberry's Main Street on occasion. It's definitely the highlight of the small town; old buildings line a few blocks that have stood since the town's creation, city hall is pretty, and the little stores and thrift shops are pretty welcoming. If you're visiting Gainesville, it's definitely worth a trip to get that small, southern-town vibe. It's pretty, and you can really see everything in less than an hour. Unless... Unless, well, you go to Newberry for why I go to Newberry. When I'm feeling down or just really really hungry, there's only one thing that can cure my hunger blues. A beacon of glory and hope in the town of Newberry called Newberry's Backyard B.B.Q. It's on the north side of Main Street, and has a nice big sign hanging, so you can't miss it. It's real country cooking, and it's real real good. Definitely worth a taste!

    Historic District is Really Nice
Had a little time to walk around the historic district after have lunch at one of their restaurants there. It is a nice little district offering an easy walk with some nice places to shop, eat and just look around at. One place that stood out for us was a place called Old F.A.R.T which is a sort of consignment shop of some nice art and crafts. They also refinish old furniture. That is the Old F part of the name I suspect.
