Beautiful laid back beach
The beach was beautiful. We walked south and around the corner of the beach to an area with fallen trees and driftwood. The scenery was just beautiful and we had the best time watching Ospreys, egrets, blue herons etc. It was like being in a National Geographic documentary as we watched a great egret catch a fish and spend several minutes attempting to swallow the fish he caught. We were so close, it was just amazing! We swam for a bit near the bridge and the sand was perfect and we had a great time watching pelicans eat fish. It was not at all crowded. If you are looking for lots of restaurants and bars, this is not the place for you. But if you want an uncrowded beach surrounded by amazing bird life, Lovers Key is the place for you!

Nice park but crappy bikes
Enjoyed the park however, we wanted to rent bikes to ride the path (only 1.5 miles) and beach. Problem is you have to rent bikes for the day at $24 plus tax for each bike. You ride thru the 1.5 mile path fairly quickly. Then riding on the beach would be great but bikes do not have the correct tires and the couple bikes with wider tiles were bald.... poor traction on beach. So we gave them back - an expensive 2 mile ride. Bikes and tires were in poor condition.
