Wonderful quiet campground.
First time at this no frills campground. Picnic tables and fire rings are all that’s there. The area is very level and grass covered. There were only four other campers in the area. We were well separated so there was no unwanted noise. You can use your generator from 0700 to 2200. We were trying a new solar panel and only used the generator a few minutes in the morning and evening to microwave meals. The area is super quiet. The loudest noise we heard was an owl in the evening. We very highly recommend this campground. Price was FREE with prior registration on their website.

Boondocking site with good hikes
We couldn't do the Jones's hike as it was closed off. But we walked past the boondockers and did a smaller hike on the inside loop, about an hour, we didn't pass anyone but I was nervous about bears having seen a sign that they were in the area, so we walked a brisk pace with my dog. Parking wasn't obvious when we turned up so I just parked in a field. My pup got some nasty burs in his paw pads from that field. There is a dumpster so hand if your dog poops you can dispose of it on the way out.

Hiking, Biking, and Horseback riding
Beautiful preserve with 18 miles of multi-use trails. Trailhead has parking, restrooms, picnic area, and primitive camping. Non-potable water available so bring drinking water. Tons of wildlife in the area and beautiful topography. Hiked with my dog for 4 hours and never saw another human. Perfect! Did see deer, wild turkey, hawk, and even a bald eagle. Trails are well maintained and nicely blazed. If you're looking for a place to escape for a couple hours.. This is it. Highly recommended!
