Great Pasco County Drive In
The Joy-Lan Drive-In is Pasco County's only remaining drive-in theatre! Since 1950, the Joy-Lan Drive-in has treated guests to first run movies in the comfort of their own cars. The theatre features a snack bar serving items such as popcorn, drinks, candy, pizza and hotdogs. The Joy-Lan is closed on Monday and Tuesday and features a Swap Shop on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Great
Great friendly staff, snack bar is reasonably priced with quality food. We love the pizza. Rest rooms are very clean, they seem to clean them several times a night. Have seen many great movies there. Gate price can not be beat, for two movies. Only complaint is there should be someone watching for cars turning on their head lights, and leaving them on that spoils the experience. We Cary paper bags, to slide over mirrors, to block the lights. No employee seems to care about this problem. The movie screen is large, and has a great picture. All in all you can not go wrong for a great night out. Heading there Saturday night for another fun evening.

Star Wars under the stars!
Were renting in the Dade City area for the month of December and noticed an add in the free Dade City Newspaper (available in front of the Winn Dixie) advertising the local drive-in theater with half priced admission by showing the ad. Since neither my husband or I had been to a drive-in since childhood...we thought..why not? We checked to see what movies were playing and were thrilled to find out that the new Star Wars was showing!! How perfect..watching Star Wars under the stars. We arrived a bit early to ensure a good spot and simply loved the whole experience. The sound is available from the traditional microphones (in the first few rows) and on your FM radio. They have snacks available and washrooms on site. I highly recommend the drive-in...quite a memorable experience! TIPS: Arrive about 1/2 hour early to ensure a great viewing site. Because the evening air in Florida tends to get a bit on the humid side...we found our car windows/windshield tended to fog up a bit restricting the view of the screen. I would suggest you bring with you a few of those fold up chairs just in case you have to sit outside of the car should the windows begin to steam up (you dont want to turn on your car to clear them as the lights will most likely come on and it spoils it for everyone else.) I also noticed a few others there that night had pick-up trucks ..they backed them into the parking spots and sat in the back of the 'box' on their fold up chairs (that would have been very cool to do!)...next time! LOL
