Pioneer Trail

Have a new fantastic trail for hikers - The Pioneer Trail. Hiking only, scenic (runs the North Fork Black Creek), surprising changes in elevation, overlooks, walkways, "stairways", bridge, and local historic cemetery. Linear trail with Section I is 2.4 miles, Section 2, is 2.5 miles, Section 3 is 3.4 Miles and if you extend on the Denn's Trail it is a total of 9.2 miles to that trailhead/Forest HQ. Parking at Indian Ford, Knights Landing, Ellis Ford, and Denn's (Long Horn Rd) trailheads.

And again, More New Hiking Trail!
A new section of hiking trail now complete/open. These trails are made by hikers - volunteers - for hikers, that have dedicated 1,000s of hours of labor to complete, add benches and signage. By far the best hiking trails in the JAX area. Also enjoyed by walkers , walkers with dogs and cross-country runners. The new section, CROSSCUT Trail, is 2.7 miles and connects the start of the Dunn's Farm Trail with the end of section 4 & the beginning of section 5 of the Pioneer Trail. There are now 2 loop trails starting from the Dunn's! The Crosscut offers some different scenery and features from the others; more of a variety, and is considered a nature trail - Green Blazed.

New Section of Trail Now Open
A new section of the Pioneer Trail recently opened (Section 4) adding another 2.8 miles of trail. This section is for the more serious hiker. The section includes fairly regular elevation changes, stairs and walkways. Overlooks provide excellent views of the waterway.
