Holocaust Memorial

Dedicated in 1990, Kenneth Treister's striking environmental memorial is dominated by the Sculpture of Love and Anguish, a 40-foot-tall outstretched hand, reaching to the sky.

    Emotionally powerful, yet serene
After enjoying your Sunday morning brunch in the area, my husband and I strolled over to the monument. The area surrounding the Metal hand reaching to the sky is quiet and serene and my husband and I enjoyed a stroll through the tree line area near it. Upon entering the long hallway that brings you up close to the metal hand monument you immediately feel the powerful emotions that the artist meant to invoke. It is hard not to be brought to tears.

    Very accessible, direct and impactful
Every young person should spend time at this very peaceful and reverent but informative walk-through exhibit. It is highly informative and the statuary are something you will not soon forget. Thankfully it is immediately adjacent to the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens (free entrance) and a path in back of the memorial wall gives you access to the gardens for reflection on what you have experienced.
