Underestimated
Combine a lovely site, surrounded by water, with the history of settlement from well before the arrival of any Europeans, and the charming stories of the early settlers and you have the making of a lovely few hours. You can walk or ride in a large golf cart with a docent who will tell you story after story. I have lived in this area for 25 years and never visited. What a surprise! Thoroughly enjoyed myself and wish I had come sooner.

Don’t miss this outdoor museum
This outdoor museum offer a look at the history of the early settlers and native peoples along the gulf shores of Florida. Be sure to take advantage of the guided walk with a volunteer docent to learn about the development of the area. The paths make it an easy walk with frequent stops and the park is pet friendly. This was a delightful and educational surprise.
