    Noteworthy for sure!
Beautiful - what a meaningful way to utilize a piece of land - once part of a historic cattle ranch there among the acres and acres of wildflowers, small shrubs to longleaf pines, oaks and cypress is Heartwood Nature Preserve with Natural Burial options. A picturesque stroll and there in the vastness and quietude is an energy that comforts and restores. A lovely place to enjoy some time in nature and most definitely would consider Heartwood Preserve’s unique setting to memorialize and celebrate life.

    Eco-burial At Its Best
This place is so quiet and peaceful that we chose to have our ashes buried here when we pass on. The birds sing and it has a couple of nice nature walks. The ladies who run the place are extremely friendly and helpful and can answer any questions with no pressure. This is something I feel that everyone should consider. If you do not want to be cremated, they can also handle a regular burial, but it would be done respectfully and without the casket. That way everything goes back into Nature and keeps this preserve as it originally was. If you just want to use the nature trails, they conduct walks with naturalists throughout the year. We recently took a walk and learned why and how they do a controlled burn to help the forest grow. It was very interesting. This truly is a beautiful place.
