Lovely free gardens with something always blooming
A 35 acre botanical experience featuring a palette of gardens: children's, rose, butterfly-hummingbird, Japanese, tropical. All native and Florida friendly plants in garden designs that can be replicated in the home landscape. The Learning Center provides space for programs and workshops. A walking trail around Mirror Lake leads to trails through the cypress woods. Abundant birding opportunities.

Picnic massacre
Tried to have a peaceful picnic lunch there, but were driven out by a worker wielding a weedwacker. Not a very pleasant experience.

Looking for a hike
That was our mistake to assume that the garden had a “hike”. There is maybe(!!!) a mile long loop around the gardens but was too wet to get around. Website says you can walk around Mirror Lake but was really more of a pond. So it you want HIKE this is not the place. More of a strolling place but they did allow dogs and our dogs enjoyed. Gardens not much to see in December but will try to come back in the spring. It is a work in progress so may take years to be much of an attraction .
