    A quaint historic town
My wife and I stayed in Amelia Island near the beach for our vacation, but Everytime we have been up in this area, walking down Centre St. with it's many shops and places to eat is a treat. Stores range from souvenir shops to apparel to books and Christmas items. Anyone of Irish/Scot/Welsh ancestry should visit Celtic Charm. See my review of LeClos for 5 star restaurant. This place hearkens back to days gone by when everything was lived at a much slower pace.

    Florida's Peaceful Island
Fernandina Beach is a Small beautiful Town on the North end of Amelia Island Florida. Down town is on the Marsh (marina) side of the island. The beach side is about 2 miles East. We have visited every part of the Georgia and Florida coasts. Amelia Island was so special.. It's an Island that is made up of Amazingly friendly people, Moss covered trees, Tall Palms, great weather all year (January and February will be around 70-75 degrees), fine restaurants, bordered by the most beautiful Florida State parks (Amelia Island State park, with views you will never forget, Big Talbot and Little Talbot State parks, which are 100% nature preserves). It has preserved it's "Southern" roots as well. The beaches are never crowded, in fact, most of the time, the beaches are sparsely populated. To the North of Amelia is Cumberland Island GA. If you want to cap off your Amelia Trip, go to Cumberland Island. The Ferry leaves from St. Marys Georgia. Amelia Island is a magical place.. NOT South Florida, NOT Orlando... NOT Tampa. Amelia is what Florida should be, Warm, clean, beautiful and relaxing. We are hoping to live there someday soon.
