Great day at a fun water park

"Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, one of 2 Water Parks in Walt Disney World Resort, features one of the world's tallest and fastest free-falling waterslides, as well as slides and rides for the whole family—like a kid-sized, snow-castle fountain play area with scaled-down versions of the more thrilling attractions.

    Very impressed
Even though I read the comments about Typhoon Lagoon being bigger, this was plenty big. Since I don't do the big slides, the lazy river & wave pool was perfect for me. According to some reviews Blizzard Beach has the biggest water slide & it goes straight down with a few dips along the way. I loved, loved, loved how there were many trees & roofs over a lot of the chairs providing much needed shade from the hot Florida sun in July. The place was quite crowded & I'm thinking the day before, it rained all day so it was probably people from 2 days. I too think the locker rentals for $12 & $15 are outrageous! The food was expensive also at $13.49 for a hot dog & chips. I only saw bottled water & alcoholic drinks, no soft drinks. Maybe at the bigger restaurant they had them but the little ones only had bottled water for $3.49. However, this is in line with all of the Disney parks being super expensive for food & drinks. I can't imagine how a family can afford this at $70 for 4 hot dogs & 4 drinks for lunch! Since Walt wanted this to be a place that a family could afford, I think he would be very disappointed. I'm thinking these prices make up for the free parking which draws people to the Disney Water parks instead of the competitors where parking is $25. I was with a friend of mine & she & I had a wonderful time.

    Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings as I write this review. As of late I can't help but think Disney in general has lost some of its magic. The prices seem ridiculously high, the service is up and down, and it can feel boring because the seldom add attractions when compared with some of their competitors. However I do really enjoy the Disney waterparks. They are never as overcrowded as some of the competitors water parks, they have rides for everyone and so as I said I am torn. My most recent visit I was happy that the park seemed to be doing a good job of keeping guest safe by having social distancing. There were a few times where people were a bit crowded but more the exception than the rule. I also was happy that as you enter the bathrooms they had people put on mask as consistent with CDC guidelines recommending you wear mask in doors. I am happy they seem to be staying up to date on the latest COVID recommendations which makes me feel safe to visit the park, but do admit some of that old Disney charm is missing. Please add some attractions and give the water parks and theme parks the tlc they deserve. Also get back to that old Disney service that made the company so great to visit.
