True: Gas Station, but One of The Best Diner/Grills Around

I have heard about Buc-ee's from a lot of friends. We have seen it for years in Daytona Beach but never went. We did this time and we went back multiple times. First, the gas is a better price than most anywhere else around. But that is not what makes this place 5 Star. It's what they have inside, both with items for sale and the people who work there. Their food is incredible. In fact, over two weeks, we went back 3 times for their pulled pork and slice sandwiches AND of course their home made chips. We had to have some Buc-ee nuggets and Beaver-nuggets. Every flavor was great. The sea salt was our over all favorite. I was amazed at the clothing and equipment for outdoors that they had and it was all reasonable priced as compared to the midwest. I can not wait to see other locations. This is a new favorite.

    The best place to potty
We were on out way home from vacation. Along the way we had seen various billboards for Bucee’s locations throughout several states. But none of them ever answered the question “what is Bucee’s?” My husband had been driving for over 12 hours at that point and couldn’t take it anymore, he needed a rest, but more importantly he needed to see the beaver that kept taunting him with it’s cryptic signs. Turns out it would be the last Bucee’s we’d pass on the way home. It was fate. As we rolled up we saw more gas pumps in one place than anywhere else in our lives, and we wished we hadn’t already stopped for gas. We went inside and was surrounded with the heavenly aroma of brisket sandwiches and we wished we weren’t already full. We saw their wall of fudge and treats and wished we had saved room for dessert. At least we got to use the restroom, and it was the most pleasant public restroom experience I’ve ever had. The door locks tell you if it is vacant or occupied. There are no gaps between the door and the stalls to make eye contact with strangers while you go. There is cleaner and sanitizer in the stalls so you don’t have to sit on a dirty toilet, and can clean your hands before opening the door. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and as my husband and I locked eyes as we exited our respective restrooms, we instantly knew we had a new favorite gas station.

They’re in LOVE with the Tourist dollars
As locals here in the Daytona Beach area, we were thrilled when we learned that Buc-ees was coming to our area. When they opened we were just one of many people who couldn’t wait to visit. We loved the layout of this Huge place with the individual food selections. We loved those huge Muffins in the bakery section, and the sliced and chopped Brisket sandwiches. The Gift section seems to be a hit with the tourists, but way overpriced for the locals. As we stopped to fuel up today at one of their 120 fuel pumps we were pleased to see the gas prices had dropped a bit. But when we went inside to get something to eat, we were shocked at the rise in prices on virtually Everything! Those muffins that had been $1.79 when they opened are now $2.99! The brisket sandwiches that sold for $5.99 before, are now $7.99! Well, thankfully for Buc-ees, we have Interstate 95 out there that runs from South Florida all the way to New York and beyond. I’m sure the continuous flow of tourist dollars will keep this place going for years to come.
