Best for Genealogy in the area
I lived in Hernando County for years and this library has one of the best collections of reference books for genealogy research I have seen in any library. It is located at the main branch in downtown Brooksville. The library system has grown since we first began going there in 1979. Books are now all shelved and filed according to the Dewey Decimal system. Very busy library, parking is scant so arrive early

Small but proficient!!!
The Hernando County Brooksville Library while small serves a multitude of genres, programs and are current in their usage of technology. The librarians are knowledgeable and very much obliging! I had a project I was working on and the folks at the Brooksville Library went above and beyond to help me research.

Convenient Location with Helpful Staff
A small location but conveniently located in the heart of old Brooksville downtown. There are quite a few computer terminal for patrons to use. Everytime I've been there I'm sad to say that this is where most of the action is located. This location has a decent selection of audible books. Many activities planned here especially for children.
