Biscayne National Park, Boca Chita Experience
Just wanted to share what a great experience we had visiting Biscayne National Park and taking advantage of their Boca Chita Key experience. The park is primarily aquatic with no real land hiking to be had, so if go there plan events on the water. The one we did, the half day tour to Boca Chita Key, was really fun. The boat is an open rigid bottom inflatable which moves right along. The trip over is about 40 minutes, but that includes about 10 minutes of idling through the no wake zone. The guides are very good and very informative and the scenery is beautiful... great view of Miami with none of the hassle. This is truly a great find and very great ful it has a protected status! Other Biscayne adventures include snorkeling, diving and fishing. Just an all round great place to visit!

Boca Chita Key 3/2 Hr Boat Tour by Biscayne Bay Institute just OK
While we loved seeing Boca Chita key and it was fun to walk around the island for an hour. The boat tour was just OK. We had expected there to be more of an informative narrative during the 45 minute trip each way to and from the key. But there was virtually nothing. There was a naturalist on board, Spencer, who worked at the Biscayne bay Institute. But she didn’t talk more than five minutes for an intro when we got on the boat and five minutes when we were on the island. I guess I expected that during the boat ride they would talk about the wildlife, history and about the park. My tween and teen kids thought the boat ride was boring but the island was cool. We did not feel like this boat trip. We did not feel this boat ride was very representative of the Biscayne bay national park. I’d suggest to pick a different experience. Also, if you sit in front expect to get wet.
