Absolutely Amazing!
We took the 6 am public tour with Glenn and Anna. We ended up being the only people booked for that time so we had the whole boat to ourselves which was awesome. We had our 5 and 8 year olds with us, and swimming with the manatees was something our littlest has wanted to do since she first saw a manatee. It was a very foggy morning but Glenn had us positioned up and ready to swim right before the sun came up. Our daughters were a little apprehensive at first about being in the water, but Anna was amazing as our in-water guide. She took our 8 year old out with her and made her feel safe and comfortable. We were the first boat there and there were dozens of manatees swimming around the boat when we got there, we even got to see dolphins swimming around our boat on the way out! We had the whole place to ourselves for at least the first 30 mins of the swim. It was totally amazing and I would highly recommend going for the early tour to get that little bit of quiet time with the manatees before the other boats roll in. Glenn and Anna were so wonderful and had donuts and hot chocolate for everyone after the swim, and a place to change into dry clothes. They were so kind and made the whole experience above and beyond any expectation we had. If we ever take another tour it will definitely be with Birds Underwater, thanks so much for an amazing experience with our girls! ??

Great Middle School Manatee Experience
I recommend that you take the EARLY trip, you will be on the water before the sun rises and anchoring as the sun is coming up. The manatees are more active and will likely come right up to you if you remain quiet and still. The captains and in-water guides are VERY professional and really took care of our kids. They gave them hot chocolate and a donut when they get out of the water, they really loved their trip.
