Beach Street, Florida, United States

A pleasant snapshot of an era past

Beach Street, which is just across the bridge to Daytona Beach, actually is sort of the "main" street of town with city offices, etc. What makes is charming is an evolving collection of restaurants, pubs, retail stores (including a chocolate factory with free samples, a magic store, jewelry, vintage clothes, etc), offices, consignment shops and more. We have attended art shows and street fairs here and there is a regular weekly farmers market in the adjacent Jackie Robinson base ball field parking lot. There are museums, eclectic vintage activity centers, statues and memorials, a place to walk your dog and more.

    Nice retreat
We very much enjoy the added improvements and additions through the years. Was always a decent area and has developed impressively. Kind of overlooked decades ago even though it had a few decent commercial amenities. Seems that they've made it more touristy for the quieter side of tourism. Well patrolled and all can feel safe in its surroundings. Nice job!

Beach Street - Daytona Beach's Hidden Gem
Beach Street is to Daytona Beach as a nice chevre is to cheese doodles. If you find yourself in Daytona Beach and have had enough tattoos, cigarettes, and Budweiser - GO TO BEACH STREET. There are lovely little local cafes to sit and eat at. The best part of the area (in my humble opinion) is definitely Cinematique - the art house cinema. They have a small screen but play wonderful films. You can even order bistro food and eat while you watch.
