Rude lady who locked us out
Love visiting this church thru out the year to pray. Even more special at Christmas. Very disappointed though we showed up last week and walked up to the door and before we could get there a lady, saw us approaching… looked at us… locked the door and got in her car parked at the front door and drove away…. 10:00 am. We drove from Flagler Beach for nothing. Oh well I’ll try another day.

Basilica
In the Catholic Church basilicas are traditionally named because of their antiquity, dignity, historical value, architectural and artistic worth, and/or significance as centers of worship. A basilica must “stand out as a center of active and pastoral liturgy,” according to the 1989 Vatican document Domus ecclesiae. There are only 69 churches designated basilicas in the USA. This church offers most of those qualities with stunning stained glass windows, impressive architecture and historical significance. For Catholics and non Catholics alike This is a must see in Daytona Beach.
