Avatar Flight of Passage, Florida, United States

5.0 (1.926 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #8 in Central Florida Disney Parks & Activities

Our favorite ride of all 4 parks!

With two younger kiddos we purchased individual lightning lanes for our first go at this ride. By the time I rope dropped for early entry and made it back to the end of the line, it was already at 75 minutes. We did ride a second time by getting in line at the end of the night where we waited for about 60. Throughout the day I had been checking and don't remember seeing wait times less than about 60 minutes- which considering the crowds, in hindsight were probably really good. I was a little worried about this one since I experience some motion sickness that is very much visually aggravated. I found that meclezine was my friend and focusing on background images vs close up subjects really helped for this one. Also, if you every start to feel queasy, simply close your eyes for a moment- the scenery changes pretty quickly. If you reach the height requirement, this one is a must ride!

    Not to be missed
Best ride experience in WDW. Not a roller coaster. Think Soarin' on steroids. Even if you have to buy Pay to Play (or whatever that is called now - basically paying extra for what used to be included in the admission price) to ride this, hold your nose at the gross nickel and dimeing and buy it if that's the only way you can ride. If you can rope drop, that would be a "free" alternative. Shame on Disney for charging for Genie+ and Pay to Play on top of huge increases in ticket prices. This should be included in Genie+ and it should be included at no extra cost, just like Fast Pass used to be. The Disney Parks are already generating huge profits and carrying the rest of the company, as I understand it.

Great thrill ride! Not for young kids or those that get motion sick
Our group of 12 spent three days at the parks this week and several of us agree that this was one of our favorite rides at Disney! The ride itself was AWESOME and even though the line was lengthy it was totally worth it (it is the only ride I did twice). With that being said, if you have young kids (10 and under) this ride may be a little too much for them. We had a 6 and 8 year old with us and it did scare them. If you have ANY doubts that your child will not meet the height requirement definitely check beforehand. We waited in line for 30 minutes before one of ours was turned away for being too short. My 6 year old was also measured 3 different times throughout the line so if they barely make the height requirement make sure they stand up straight for all check ins as you don’t want to wait 90 minutes to be turned away at the last minute. Also, if you have motion sickness I would pass on this ride. Even though you physically aren’t moving much a couple in our group who experience motion sickness were very close to becoming sick on the ride. Other than that is a great experience and ride!
