Beautiful Park

Having been to a Mexico many times and always wanting to see an alligator in the wild, and never finding success, I inquired at the restaurant where I ate the night before. The server pointed me on the direction of Alligator Lake. There are 7-8 different trails that you can take to see different parts of the lake as per the map in the main parking area. I decided, after having nothing to do on this Friday morning, to take the longest trail, which encircles the entire lake. I saw so many different types of beautiful birds and lovely landscape situations which made for beautiful photographs. Always on the lookout for the ever elusive gator. After walking for about an hour, and knowing I was almost back to my original starting spot, I saw a 4 foot blackish critter sunning himself(or herself....no idea) on the edge of a little swampy stream. I mean it wasn’t a 10 foot man eater that would make a great story, but it was a gator, nonetheless. The park is BEAUTIFUL and I highly recommend it !

    Nice park
A large park with a playground, pavilion and picnic tables and several hiking trails of various lengths. The lake is inaccessible from the playground area, it’s all marsh. The area is nice and I’m sure all the trails are interesting to follow. We hiked a short one and found it a pleasant walk. We were there late in the afternoon and the park closed at 5L30 so we didn’t take any of the longer routes.

    Beautiful Lake
I love coming here to fish or just walk in nature. There are several paths that take you around the lake. One path goes over a little bridge and there's a long stretch of land that has water on either side. At the end of this stretch of land is a beautiful area to sit and fish. There's also a covered picnic area and places for kids to play. You might even get lucky and see an alligator.
