    One of the best Zoos
This was such an amazing Zoo, one of the best Zoo’s we have visited in our many travels abroad. It was so pram and wheelchair accessible you have no idea what a surprise this was as we didn’t have to skip any part of the zoo due to accessibility. They had many, many animals and unlike other Zoos all the animals were actually there, on the day of our visit none of the areas were empty. The aquarium section was also particularly beautiful. When we visited it was around lunch time but we found that there wasn’t really anywhere to eat within the zoo so it was lucky we bought our own food. I am not sure if this was because of the time of year we visited or if it is generally like this. We managed to catch one talk about the elephants which was informative. There were both outdoor and indoor sections of the Zoo. I would highly recommend this Zoo.

    Antwerp Zoo
We visited here in January with a promotion. It was 23 euros instead of 28 which I still thought was very expensive. The zoo is quite small though and there wasn't the range of animals or quantity that I was expecting. It's one of the oldest zoos in Europe which is one of the reasons we went. I think too that you have to bear in mind that when it's cold, the animals are cold too and are inside where it's warm and not doing very much apart from hiding from the cold in their nests/beds so there weren't as many on show as I would have expect - but this isn't their fault of course, it's just something to consider. The butterfly area is also closed in the winter months (again, it makes sense but is something to know about in advance). Also, I wouldn't eat at either of the restaurants - it is expensive and not very nice. We went in because it was cold and we wanted something warm to eat, paid 15 euros for a burger and it wasn't a burger at all, it was a sloppy beef patty in gravy. The chips were great though but you have to pay a euro for each of the sauces.
