Carolus Borromeus Church, Flanders, Belgium

4.5 (499 reviews) Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent Ranking #9 in Antwerp Province Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites

In many ways this parish church offers more of interest than the Cathedral.

Visitors are made very welcome to this free to visit this elegant baroque church. Built between 1615 - 1621 by design of the Jesuit order. After the Order ceased the church came under the patronage of the most holy, Charles Borromeus. Worthy of note is that there is no 'Choir' as is the norm in Jesuit religious houses. The nave, high altar, chapels and pulpit are all worthy of inspection.

Impressive church in the heart of Antwerp
Beautiful during the night, simple during the day. It is better when you see it from outside, I am not sure if it is worth to go inside. Good option if you like church photos.
