A great place to walk and view the birds

I walked to this reserve from the centre of the city. There were many families and couples walking around. The paths afford a circular tour. Many walked part only. There is plenty of birdlife on the flooded areas. Geese and ducks as well as a few swans. The track is good. No need for boots.

    A beautiful nature park
    Very beautiful and peaceful area just outside Ghent, perfect place to have a walk or like some sportive people just go jogging or running there. Its a big area but nicely made with walking paths and benches to take a rest. Easy to park your car and few entrances so its never a crowdy feeling. Worth a visit

    Nature reserve just outside Gent
    Quite pretty nature reserve found 5kms from Gent city Center. The reserve is mostly marsh and farmland so public access is limited to a few routes circling the reserve. There is a bird hideaway and a little cafe, very nice if you're into running or walking
